Will this work for soften

Will the tap water filter help soften the water? It is good for tanks 25 to 125 gallon.

Not likely. It will remove some things like sulfur and Iron and other contaminants but I do not think it will soften the water. Water softeners remove calcium and magnesium and some remove iron and replace with sodium.
