Hello
Ah yes, more questions The more I read on this web site the more I begin to think, maybe, I can just use my well water to keep (raise ,actually)my discus. Right now,I RO and reconstitute everything for the dicus. The parameters are:

well water (not softened)
water temp :cold coming in at 54F from well
PH 7.6 at first then 8.2 on standing to degass CO2
KH 6
GH 13
TDS 262 (which by the way, does not add up to the GH and KH combined..it should be 339. The TDS meter is calibrated.

Hot water
from water heater tank is TDS of 280 (that would be sodium from the water softener..or experimental error) Rest of parameters are the same.

Can I mix the hot and cold at the fawcett and pitch it into the dicus grow out tanks from a hose? Right now, even for my Tanganikans, I store the well water and warm it up before pumping into the tank. Then the temp and ph is stabilized and there is no sodium trace.

Once you start having to collect and store well water,it's actually little further trouble to pass it through the RO.

Another point..the well water does change seasonally ..so it's not perfectly stable either.

PS Hello to the fellow in Hiram OH. I am in Chagrin Falls

Thanks
