Does PP affect the Bio Filter?

PP is a strong oxidiser and there are many things to take into consideration. For example I had a sump based system that had been running for many years, if I used PP on it even up to 4ppm there was never any impact on the bio filter. However I also have some tanks with filters that are fairly new (less than 6 months running) and PP at 2 ppm has set these back.

The best advice is to expect it to knock the filter back a little an be prepared for it.
