I'm going to call this my random photo thread. Its a place for me to just pile in all the random photos I take that really don't need a topic of their own. Like 1 or 2 pictures that just aren't worth clogging up the forums and making a separate thread for, those will go here. Could post one daily, could go days between photos, who knows. Like I said, just a place that I can post all of my randoms.

How about we start with the moon. Pretty good for a 24-105mm lens i'd say.

For today, some pictures from last year when I visited the Kingdom of Morocco in North Africa. Greetings from the beaches of Tan-Tan. Well sorta...Tan-tan isn't on the coast ;) These were taken on an iphone, I apologize for quality. Don't let the beautiful ocean view fool you, directly behind you in these photos is a seemingly endless arid desert bordering the Sahara.....looked just like Iraq with a few mountains.

I'm working on something pretty cool coming up, so stay tuned on that. Unfortunately we lost 7 Marines today in a tragic helicopter training exercise in California as they were preparing to go to Afghanistan. So its only fitting that today's pictures are of Marines and Helicopters. This is what I do as a Landing Support Specialist in the Marine Corps, gives the biggest adrenaline rush in the world.

Well its storming today, Might have to wait on the really cool project I'm working on now. You'll enjoy it I promise. Oh well, looks like we'll travel some more, today its Latvia! One of the most interesting places I've visited out of the ~7 countries the military has sent me to. In some parts you feel like you are in Bratislava (from the movie Eurotrip), in others, the English countryside. Very lush, neat country. I enjoyed the visit and had the best french fries I've ever eaten in my life here.

The Baltic Sea, and yes...I did take a swim. Water temps were close to 42.

My cool photos didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I need to re-shoot them, pain. I need to get a tablet or something so I can view photos easier before tearing down the shoot. Maybe next week. Here are a couple for today, both taken with Iphone.

Sorta...just smaller. ;) Found this guy scurrying around outside. TERRIBLY hard to get pictures of, and REALLY fast. Had to borrow another set of hands to hold it while I took the pictures.

Wow, I didn't know that Mantis could be that small (unless it's a baby one). Mantis claws are sharp, I have seen some videos of them killing a bird and fishes.

Quality sucks because taken with an Iphone while driving but...I got excited seeing it. Here is one of the brand new County Police rides around here. My absolute favorite car, now a police car haha. They look sharp, and mean!

Heres my newest set. Some stars. Still wanting to get a better lens for astro photography but this one puts out some pretty cool shots. I like how they are not the in your face kind of star shots, though doesn't help that we don't have dark skies. Some are very similar.

Thanks. All of these were around 2000 iso, 24mm at f/4 and all around 20-25 second exposure. I'm going to try to find somewhere that doesn't crap up the quality of pictures like photobucket does.

Switched places where I upload my images, what a difference. Comparison side by side. Deviantart first, then Photobucket....look at the difference. Size and quality, and this is not changed by me....same image file uploaded to two different sites. See I wasn't crazy when I complained my pictures sucked!! I'll be using Deviantart and Flikr from now on.

It does Pat, at least for most. Some are still ok, but the majority have a reduced quality after being uploaded to photobucket. Places like Flickr would be a much better choice (Deviantart too...since I already had an account there)

Couple of my dog yesterday. We just recently lost one of our dogs so its been hard on this one...very lonely during the day, she also plays it up VERY well for more attention though...
