Plumbing Problem?

Hi all,

My shower head has been leaking for a while now and it is become more severe ever since. No matter how hard I turn the knob to get it shut, the leak remains. Is there anything I can do myself to take care of this problem, instead of dishing out for a plumber?

Probably should ask this on a DIY forum. We can plumb fish tanks. You may not want to trust your plumbing and interior walls to us.
