Breeding Cone replacement

I ordered a breeding cone but takes time to arrive, my fish is about to spaw, maybe on the heater like last time. what can I use instead of a breeding cone?

Yes!It is tippy.And in my more aggresive pairs,it get's tipped.I'm still learning at this game.That pair in the pic are like clock work.Some of my bigger stendekers have an agenda with the pvc.I just dont have the time in the summer to deal with them,but I need to figure out a way to weight them a little.Thinking sand and sealing them.

burn your heater _ instead of | that helps sometimes..

If you can , move your heater so that it lies parallel to the bottom of the tank near the bottom. If placed like that, they will spawn on the glass.

I stick a 2'' PVC pipe on a thick piece of 4''x4'' glass, the pipe stays just above the water line,and i fill up the pipe with water...very sturdy and simple.
