Hi,

I have a bunch of wilds. Frankly, I just picked what I liked and just went with it. After reading how specific some guys can be on their discus, I was wondering if anyone had the time to explain what are the things to look for in "rating" a high quality wild (or any discus).

I guess in domestic discus there has been so much in-breeding (like dogs I guess) that it is important to create a rating criteria, but I am interested how this works for wilds since they can come in so many different ways.

Thanks
Brian

Its a lot like rating domestics. There are some extremely amazing specimens that come from the wild. In regard to judging, there will be obvious areas where the fish will lack but it will be accepted or taken into account since its a wild fish. There is a wild category in competitions. In that category, there will be all types of wilds and honestly, the most impressive will win, regardless if its a heckel, blue or green. The best example of that type will score the highest.
