Here's my new babies, very small but strong. I do things differently than many recommend. 30 minutes after drop and plop, they are feeding on Tetra Discus Breeder pellets.

Thanks Pat, 10 each

drop and plop???

fish look real nice

Its an acclimation method, drop and plop, plop and drop....basically float the bags to get the temperature to match and then scoop the fish out and drop them in the tank. The reason I can do that, is because the breeder keeps his PH under 7 and my PH is 8. Higher is cool, lower is NOT cool for the drop and plop method. :)

Yes Larry, wild royal blue f4s. The importer in Madrid actually recieved them from Malaysia. I will find out from who and see if I can get pictures. Glad to be back!

Eddie, I am hoping you can get some pics of the parents. I would love to see your blues having a rich red-based color as their body base color. From what I can see now they could easily go that way development wise.

Yeah....its funny you mention that. The majority of them have seemed to get a lot of iridescent spots throughout the body. Maybe in several months they will turn into lines. Would be nice to have some with full body lines. I do like the solid look with minimal striations though. :)

I think around 5 inches but I've yet to pull them out. Could be more, could be less. I will eventually have to pull them out when I move them to a more biotope style tank in a few weeks. Juveniles are always fun to grow, especially these wild type.

Hey kind of a side question eddie. When i first started raising my fish i was always told how they need a low PH so i was mixing my RO and tap water to lower it. Now that i see you raise your fish at a ph of 8 i see that it obviously doesnt seem to matter haha. So obviously in the future raising mine on tap water would be totally fine then if my ph of tap is around 7.8?
