Cause of Fungus..... please help

What is the cause and cure of Egg fungus?
This is the 3rd time my Discus spaw but the Eggs got eaten after having Fungus

If the eggs aren't fertilized, thats what happens, just like a bacteria build up on something decaying/dead in the tank.

in one of the community tanks.. i have a Virgin Red x Spotted Leopard pair... that laid eggs.. fungus on first batch.. today is 3rd day.. interested to see how the eggs look when i get home.. :)

Another question, I am mixing RO water with Tab water, almost 50% how soft the water should be in order for the Eggs to be fertlized. I ordered the TDS meter but still on the way. also do you recomend 100% RO?

I am confused here about what to do!

Soft water isn't really required. A member on here gets great hatch rates and his water is liquid concrete. Maybe the male isn't fertilizing the eggs, maybe you got 2 females, lots of variables.

I see them when the Eggs are laid, the female goes in a vertical line them the male goes next (Fertlizing) the eggs I guess and they take turns doing that. that's what made me assume he is a male and he is fertlizing the eggs

could be two females laying eggs.. so they both make the "RUNS">.

Possible that he isn't fully matured yet, how big and how old?

not all males are good at making babies. Some never fertilize the eggs.

I will say the fish do thing when they want to because i know i have 2 pair,one is compose of P/B the other one is compose of 1 blue diamon and a red melon,they laid eggs in my community the eggs hatch fry free swimming and got eaten by other fish ok,now in the breeding tank this is the third time the eggs have fungus they eat them,i just order a tds meter i need to know if its the water.

pull him out and put it on a wet towel.. and lay ruler under or on him.. either will work
