I missed you all ( well most of you anyways :p ). I was very busy with school this past qtr. I was taking stats, psych of personality, research methods, learning, cognition and behavior. I had my hands full to say the least. I had time to take care of my many tanks of fish but no spare time to talk about it. Anyways, I am back until classes start back next month. Only 3 classes this summer but it is 12 weeks of material crammed into 8 weeks. Hopefully, it will not be as bad as spring qtr!

As you can see I still have all 6 discus that are happy and healthy.
The heater is not in it's typical spot because this is a new one I added yesterday and I am plying around with calibrating it to get the temp right before I lay it on the bottom of the tank. The heater I had before was still working great but it had developed condensation inside of it which made me nervous.
The apistos keep laying eggs but then eating them - grrrr.
I finally was able to get the Phyllanthus fluitans plants last week. You can see some of the roots from them hanging down from the water surface.

Thanks! I have been enjoying them, I just have not had time for much else. It is nice when I am doing homework to look up and see my fish, it really helps with the stress.

Yes, but Bastyr is a very small private University for applied health science degrees. I knew what I was getting into.

It was nutrition. I spent 3 years as a nutrition major at Bastyr but then during the fall qtr. of my senior year I switched to Health Psychology which means I had to "redo" my junior year and starting this fall I will be a senior again. (Still at Bastyr).
Health Psych is a specialized area that focuses on the effect that physical health and psychological health have on each other. Frankly I think that anyone studying either phys or psych health should learn how they relate to each other. It should be commmon sense. It is amazing to me how many people do not think that stress effects their health or that diet has no impact on mental health. :(

interesting that "Health Psych" is a field of study now. it wasn't when I was in school........in fact that should be part of nursing curriculum too!
