Hello Discus Chicks,

Nice to see real live developing discus eggs. Looks great.

I know they're getting ready...in the past few days, the domestic fish have been flying out of the sump. I stepped on one by accident. It was dry. I scraped it off the floor, put it in a tank of its own, and now, 3 weeks later, it's eating again. Half a dorsal, but in fine spirits. I wonder how the other fish will treat "him" when the fish is recovered and joins a group again.

That is because I didn't put enough meth blue and they are being raised without their parents it's fungus that has grown from the unfertilized eggs. The fungus won't harm the batch it's just unsightly.........Josie

Well it's a little different then uneaten food but basically the same thing. What I do is clean the tank of uneaten food at the end of the day to try to avoid that issue. But with eggs it's a little hard ....Josie

They would have learned how to be patience, about their body langauge and it's effect on others, the art of touching, both gentle and firm. How to be the boss both in attitude and body language and how to be gentle when needed. The effective application of pressure and it's release (horse's learn on the release of pressure) and most important, the body langauge of the horse. When the horse is relaxed, thinking, tense, scared (and how scared), dominant, submissive and the appropriate action (and level) to take based on what you are reading from the horse's body langauge.

Thats so true I think horse people have great approach to all animals after training and spending time with them you definitely learn a great deal more about yourself and others I also believe that if anything else horses teach you common sense which I think most people lack LOL......:).....josie

Interesting...may I ask how? I have on several occasions moved fry via a turkey baster to another pair that had fry themselves at the time, but have never attempted to place fry with a foster pair that did not have fry themsleves......may I ask how you did this?
