Hello Challengers,
Hopefully you are all enjoying your first weeks in the contest and have been documenting everything with extreme detail.:) Seriously, I need to remind you that all Challengers are required to be familiar with the posted rules and to adhere to those Rules. That means updates as outlined in the rules and it means making selections for the groupings in a timely fashion. Up until now we've given everyone a grace period to settle in. Now that the contest has officially been closed to new entrants.. we need to maintain all rules and obligations.

Our first method of doing this is your own vigilance and diligence. You as contestants have agreed to participate in a certain fashion... WE as the forums general membership will be watching to see that is done.:)

Our Second method, which I hope we do not need is to have a group of Watchers. I made mention of this group when we planned out the contest. I have asked 2 moderators, Larry(jaykne) and Len_S to coordinate with this group. In addition, Paul and I will help where needed. I will also be adding several other members..This group of watchers is technically in charge of all matters relating to the rules and their enforcement....so please treat them with the appropriate respect should they contact you.

Good luck to everyone !!

Looks like everyone should have turned in their contest photos by now. When will the judging and scores be posted?

The contest was extended 3 months to a 15 month total. The clock started ticking when the fry reached dime size. The reason for the extension was for a better comparson to past contests. Although those contest lasted one year, they started with 3" juvenile discus and not dime sized fry. Contestants were/are allowed to stop at the original 12 months and document/measure/photograph thier final two if they so desire without being disqualified. They will then be judged with the others when they are finished.

This is what I have wrote down for my three contest batches:

Group 1......dime sized and culled down to 30 at 8/28/2012.......will be finished at 11/28/2013
Group 2......dime sized and culled down to 30 at 9/10/2012.......will be finished at 12/10/2013
Group 3......dime sized ane culled down to 30 at 9/17/2012.......will be finished at 12/17/2013

question: when time comes, do we measure and submit all 8 or just the ones represent the group?

Tony, I think just the two you select for the judging but best to check with the rules.

7. At the end of the year the participants will measure and report the length of all the fish in the group. Two fish will be selected and pictures taken for judging from each entry.
