So when are you going to make your selection? At approx 2 months you should be down to 8 and You've not yet confirmed you had selected the initial 30.

yes.. len.. sorry.. i have not responded to your email you send me last night at 9pm but as John stated.. yes.. i am in Dallas for Discus Show.. and will be involved in setting up the TCA/FOATA SHOW in preparation for NADA AUSTIN 2014..

fish are not split.. since i knew i was going to be gone for 4 days.. and asking my brother, non fish person, to do WC twice per day.. for 4 days was alot to ask for more than one tank.. using the KISS method.. it would be easier for him to care for..

however,.. by the next update.. i will have split the 30 fish.. and from what i understand.. the 8 are split at 2" not 2 months..

thank for holding contestants to the fire about the rules.. it has kind of been unregulated up to this present date..

if you feel this is outside of the spirit of the contest feel free to DQ from the contest.. i would understand.. rule are the rules..

ps.. the BOLD TYPE was for ncogneto.. for giving me grief.. :)

Skip, it is about two months for the split to 8. Make the split next week. No one wants to DQ you. Have fun at the show.

4. A suggestion is to start with a group of 30 dime size fry and you then document it weekly.. You may start with less than 30 fry but you decrease your odds of a good group. You can not have more than 30 in this initial group. You can tape a dime or other similar sized object to the tank. When your fry are approximately two months old you will choose the best eight fry to follow the rest of the year. At this point a quarter must be taped to the tank or a similar sized object as a reference.All others should be removed from the tank.

oz.. when i got them they were dime size.. 6 weeks..

i have keep updating.. from the number of weeks i have had them..
the first feedings i gave them.. was cyclo pleeze freezer bar (http://www.freezerbar.com/).. it is a marine food.. very tiny.. just right for little fry.. 60% protein.. and then i would crush up Beef Heart flake with PRO GROW.. from bill..

they are now eating.. variety of flake..

Plankton
Ocean Nutrition Formula 1 & 2, Prime Reef..

i was cutting up very tiny freeze dried Blackworm from Al & Dan in addiction to the flakes..
they don't want frozen beef heart..
also feed LIVE BRINE.. when the brine is fresh at LFS.. usually tuesday..

Water changes.. are TWICE a day *50 to 60%, str8 tap*.. Except on Thursday.. i work from 6pm till 4am.. so they only get one water change that day..
