I shot a Turkey! (warning "graphic" content)
Had a Turkey come to the trees off my Deck. Its been hanging around the yard a bit now , probably because it has a bad eye and its pretty safe here. I decided though that I would shoot it so, I did.:evilgrin::evilgrin:

Ha, ha! You got me! Great shots.
Re: I shot a Turkey! (warning "graphic" content)
That is one of the best looking turkeys I have ever seen. Glad it wasn't the kind of "shot" I feared it would be.

How did that turkey get there? LOL
Re: I shot a Turkey! (warning "graphic" content)
Nice “shots”! Of course I would’ve been ok with the other kind too. :antlers:

Groups of turkeys have become roving menaces in some parts of town and neighboring communities. They're game birds, so there's a season, but couldn't be hunted in the city anyway. They know they're ok in town. The deer are like that in areas here, too.

Steve,
As an Archer I can tell you that at least in CT laws are very different on where the game can be hunted legally if using a Bow. In general As long as you have a liscence, appropriate stamp, own the land or have written permission and the animal is in season, Turkeys and any other critter that meets the state laws can be shot, even in less than wild habitat. Of course its best done judiciously as its a contentious subject.
I have not hunted turkeys with anything but my camera to date. I was a bird watcher before I was an archer.....and I don't hunt for sport and I am not hungry:) :) Theres a few bow hunters in CT that would be glad to assist with your roving menances. Probably are in OR as well.
