Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
I'd say Monday, but Monday is the dentist. They are from my homebred strongly blue based SS pairs. The babies have been culled for obvious deformities. No short gill plates with these, but a few strange swimmers and little guys. Here's a pic of mom and dad.
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Sorry about the same pic twice.

Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Of the babies? They're just a month old so you can't tell a lot.
I forgot to mention the price...$25 each in groups of 6 or more. I can fit 6 in a box that will ship UPS Next Day Air Saver for $65. I have larger boxes for more than 6 but of course, shipping will be more due to the extra weight and size of the box.
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Beautiful Pair Liz, I am sure the babies will grow into some stunners with the right care!

Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Thank you, Al. They have the genetics to be good fish, but like you said, it takes more than good genetic. Good care with grow out is. the difference between a football and a discus shaped Discus. It's not a job for a lazy Discus keeper.
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Hi Liz
How old is that pair.? The fish I got from you on 9/20/22 are about 5-1/2 mts , 4-3/4 Lt and starting to show
some of that pattern. Is this about right for there age re: size and color?
Thanks
Jay
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
You're doing a fine job with them, Jay. They're right on the mark. Their growth will slow down after 5" or so, so don't be concerned when it happens.
This pair is about 18 months old. They the pair that I called stupid when they failed at parenting the first several times. They've got the process down pat now. The female has actually turned into a nympho. The poor male is a bit overwhelmed. It looks like only about half of these eggs were fertilized. He'll do better as he gets older.
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
Liz, how would you recommend feeding to go after 5 inch? Mine are still eating like horses (4.5-5 inch presently).
Don't want to overfeed.
Re: Babies will be ready to ship Tuesday
If they eat it, you are not over feeding. I generally cut down to feeding 3 times daily at that size.

I should be so lucky
