Re: 1-1/4" Brilliant x red turq discus - Riverside, CA - Pickup Only
Thanks Ryan...they are always hungry and about 1.5" or better now...just starting to see faint markings that will gradually develop into blue stripes...currently eating whole cubes of FDBW rather than ground up:

Some members got some nice fish.
Re: 1-1/4" Brilliant x red turq discus - Riverside, CA - Pickup Only
I'm just curious but how many cubes did it take to feed all of those fry at each feeding and how many times per day?
Re: 1-1/4" Brilliant x red turq discus - Riverside, CA - Pickup Only
For the FDBW, I broke 2 or 3 cubes in half and stuck them all to the glass a couple times a day when I had >130 fry in the tank, so that all could get some. The loose FDBW fines and ground up FDBW also work well in an automatic feeder, the fry take it right from the surface.
Also use ground beefheart flake, frozen adult brine shrimp, instant and live baby brine shrimp throughout the day.
This was my first time raising/selling such a large batch of fry and while it was fun and I have some nice fry leftover to raise for myself, it's also quite time consuming, so I'm resting the pair (and myself) for a while before thinking about taking on the task again! :-)
