Not exactly but i do mix BH in some of his food
Hi Carol
I live in Bloemfontein in the good old Free State South Africa. What i do with great success to clean the heart by removing all fats and tissues . I then cut the heart in sizable strips , and freeze it.
When feeding time comes i only take one strip, put it in a food grater and grind with the thin blade to 1to 2 mm strips with a lenth of 1to 2 cm .Each tank with four to five discus get a heaped teaspoon once a day and they love it.
I only use Venison heart as i am told that beef heart contains hormones and other stuff injected to cattle that is not good for discus but i also know a lot of discus keepers in South Africa that use Beef heart with great success. I
