The mbu's are a bit expensive, but they are well worth it. The fahakas are cheeper and dont get as large.

if u go for saltwater puffer, id say get map pufferfish. best color u will find.

I saw some figure 8 puffers at the lfs before. They all come to the glass and look like they are smiling at you. I believe you need brackish water for them when they grow and something like snails for them to gnaw on because their teeth grow all of the time.
I would have gotten a bunch but they tend not to play nice once they mature.
Its funny I have been looking at the MBU puffers thanks to Nick :p I would much rather stay with Fresh water its what I'm use to and shouldn't be a big leap for me like salt would be.....Josie

Whatever puffer you decide to get, I think you will love it. I think they are smart and have more of a personality than most any other fish.

I have reef tank and a discus show tank and the discus tank is more work...
wow those map puffers look cooooool !! puffers are cutie pies i see the attraction :) ive toyed with salt water but worry about the extra work on top of discus but i love the comments here with encouragement !
