Re: Actually, I am going back to discus! :) And i have some questions
Hey Matt,
Before you jump the gun again...stop and think about the cost factor.
Remember that saying please Mom and Dad does not always work.:argue:
1) Remember it's your parents house and they pay the bills
2) water changes and extra hydro means higher utility bills.$$$$
3) Reputable source to buy Discus ( Simply Sponsors ) or ( Simply member breeder )$$$$
4) The initial cost of discus...min 4 to 6 discus. In your case, min 4 inch in size.$$$$
5) Your 55g will be fine but no gravel or sand bottom. Just bare bottom.
6) A fairly good HOB filter ( Hang on back Filter) and air driven sponge filter.
7) A quality heater 150 or 200 watts.
8) Good quality food. ( flake, frozen, freeze dried, granules )$$$$
9) Very clean water quality, means min. 2 x 30% per week at the very least.$$$$
10) Medications in some cases. They could get sick from poor water quality or other$$$$
11) A good water quality test kit
12) Very-very dedicated to all the above.
Have you changed your mind yet.
I suggest you discuss what the cost factor will be with your parents first.
I've seen people go into it quick and even quicker getting out.
I'm started to sound like Dr Phil.

Haha the pic is funny. :) Oh and i did talk to my parents about it they said its fine they are just wondering witch ones i am getting. Are you sounding like Dr Phil haha. And oh its a 75 gallon by the way. I going to go buy a water testing kit soon so i dont have to drive far to get a water test. And i just want to know why do they need bare bottom anyway i never really asked anyone.
Re: Actually, I am going back to discus! :) And i have some questions
Matt, BB is alot easier to keep clean and maintain better water quality.
