The price is sure right on the dolphin.

That pump will run 4 tanks no problem, probably more. the other pumps that have been listed will be serious overkill.
What does In orbit mean?..

He means shooting the airstone out of the top of your tank due to the air pressure.
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
IMO cluttering under a stand to quiet noise isn't worth it. Even in a container you will still here it, I ran mine through 10' of hose and in paper towels and was still noisy. I ended up opting on creating back pressure on the pump with a valve, though not a good idea as it strains the pump.
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
Can any manifold go on the dolphin or just the one it comes with?
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
You could use anything you wanted just would have to use adapters.

Rick since the dolphin can run 4 tanks, just curious, how many do you think the Alita's can run?

Only need it for about two tanks and most likely an aging barrel. Only reason I wanted to go big was if I ended up expanding, then I wouldn't need to buy another pump. Rick, since the dolphin puts out 30 lpm and the AL-15A puts out 20 lpm doesn't that mean the dolphin is more powerful?
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
NO, although it would seem that way, lpm is only part of the equation. The alita will have alot more psi at it';s rated output and can handle twice as many tanks. the trouble with getting to large a pump is your going to have to vent alot of air, or risk damaging the pump. Venting alot of air will be very loud!

Do you still need to vent air if you end up using as many Airstones as the manifold lets you hook up??
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
well, no, as long as your not boiling the water in your tank.

lol if the Airstones put out too much air then can I put those black flow regulator things in the airline tubing? Thanks rick
Re: Differences between these air pumps?
if you do that you might damage the pump
