I got bored of my this setup. I considered it finished so ripped everything out and started again. Here is what I did:
Base made from fine gravel, tropica substrate and tropica aquasoil.

Bogwood and more aquasoil

Initial planting and flooding

Finished planting a day later.

That's where I'm at. Should look good once it fills in more.
The new scape is beautiful Marc!! :D Did you pre-soak the wood so it would not float? You really have a natural knack for this.

Starting to fill in nicely now. Treating the tank as a bit of a plant nursery now as I'm moving at the end of the month bit it's good to things grow out.

Looks beautiful, Marc. In fact, I just nominated it for September's Pic of the Month contest. Keep the updates coming!

Very nice looking transition in natural scapes Marc , though I liked the Dutchy scape more.
I would only change the placement or get rid of the tall Taiwan and hygrophila on the right . Your hardscape is triangular and plants should follow that scape look and order .
I can't wait for this nature scape to grow and mature .
You have a very good sense for space and details and I think that you should aim your focus more on aquascaping tanks rather than discus at this point . Thats where your talent lays Marc :)
Thanks for the kind words. This tank has been ripped down in preparation for my move to a bigger house next week. Bare bottom and just some bogwood and java fern at the moment.
Got big plans for the new setup. Will be a very green amazon jungle theme. I like proper fish tank setups rather than fine detailed aquascape to be honest. I think a tank is far more exciting when it's more jungley than a perfectly pruned aquascape.
I've moved house. Much bigger place. Tons of room for the kids, but more importantly, I got to redo the tank.
Went for a very simple dual island scape. Simple plants and tons of swim room.

Very nice. That's my type of scape
Of your scapes this is definitely my favourite!
Thanks guys. I feel like this is much more suited to the discus. So simple and plants one colour make the discus pop.
Made a little video of the scape.

Very nice setup Marc. Although your previous set ups were more detailed and artistic , I think that this one suits the looks and needs of discus fish the most .
What soil have you put in those "stone pots " for the plants ?
Do you still add Co2 and ferts with this plant selection ?
