Al, Angela and I were just talking about how sweet your offer is and decided to offer the US (University Choice) winner a plaque. This contest is a great idea and should be a lot of fun to follow.

Hi ya Al,you may not remember me as I haven't been on in a while..my name is Mench and I am a Discus-a-haulic...LOL
As luck would have it,I have a couple of tanks sitting idle and as I am retired with nothing but time,at least that is what the bride tells me,I think this would be fun...

Re: First Annual Discus Hobbyist Challenge...
Al,
I thought i would sweeten the deal a little i will include shipping for any aussies taking up the challenge in exchange all they have to do is make a $50 donation to simply discus. So that's 6 Cobalt juvies including freight for a $50 donation.I will also throw in a plaque for the aussie winner !
cheers

Re: First Annual Discus Hobbyist Challenge...
This is a really neat idea.
As a newbie to discus, seeing results from something like this where people use different techniques, etc, would be really educational.
I hope that you choose someone who plans on trying a non-traditional method, just for comparison.
I'll probably try to grow some juvies out in a low tech planted tank, since that's what I have, but it would be cool to be able to see a comparison in a semi-controlled experiment, so I could see what to expect.
I'll start my tank before this challenge ends, but it might help other newbies when they start out.
I can't wait to see what happens!
Re: First Annual Discus Hobbyist Challenge...
