Re: New "toy", anyone else into guns?
I grew up hunting with my dad and I received my first gun at 14, a Beretta 20 gauge shotgun. It is a beautiful little gun with a modified choke. The perfect bird gun. My husband decided he wanted a Glock 9mm for Christmas which is not a bad fit for my hand and look forward learning to shoot it.

Matt this .22 is already priceless :)

Goid little gun. Its probably from '60s
I have a marlin 22 rifle as well, except mine came from my grandmother.....I remember her shooting squirrels off the birdfeeder from her front porch in the early 70s. I have several much more expensive handguns but nothing more precious than that old marlin. Ironically I inherited my grandfathers wedding band. Yep grandpa's jewelry and grandma's gun lol!

One of the 45's was my dad's,sold it to a friend, and bought it back to give to my son when he graduates from mechanics school next month.Seeing as how I had them out, snapped some pics.My favorite,High-Cap Parordanance. My brother shoots semi-pro,and as he got older,he wanted a lighter gun,and sold it to me.18 shot .45.Attachment 77061My son was into WWII when younger,so on his 7th birthday,I was a hit with all the other parent, got him this .22 Ruger repilca of a Luger.Attachment 77062And the rest, upper right is the Colt Comander with an extended barrel I'm giving my son,and lower right a .380 colt designed to look like the Colt Comander.Attachment 77063

Great looking collection Bill. I am not into guns persay but I admire some of the old guns like six shooters from the old west. Maybe an old colt would be nice to own.

That's iteresting and good since it is a personal choice. Do they give you guys parameters such as caliber, or specific brands?

Thats also what my brother does,"cowboy shoots".Dress the part and shoot targets in the field,six-shooter in each hand. For his age group, older then me,at one time he was ranked second in the country.

There are people who do this while riding a horse at a full gallop and shoot balloons. It is called Cowboy Mounted Shooting

Re: New "toy", anyone else into guns?
I would love to try that if I could find someone to train with and had a rock solid horse. Sure looks like fun.
Re: New "toy", anyone else into guns?
I have been using my son's Glock 19. But I prefer a larger round. A .45 ACP is like a 9mm, except for grownups. :) I love my 1911. But it is really to large to carry every day now and fits my vest poorly.
So, even though my son will have a fit, I have been looking hard at a S&W M&P .40 Compact with the low concealed carry sight setup. Anyone have one and if so, what do you think of the gun?
Tom
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and beheld a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
John Browning's .45 ACP entered service in 1911. Coincidence? I think not.

Glock makes a slim line .45. I had one for a while. Nice gun. Holds 6+1. Worth taking a look at.
