New to discus but not new to fish
Hey guys I’ve kept various freshwater fish setups for over 12 years. Always wanted discus but never exactly had the courage to keep them until last year I realized it was now or never and so I took that plunge! It has done a lot to enhance the whole fishkeeping experience.
I currently have 6 in a 125 gal their for life home. I got them in September. I am wanting to successfully add 4 or so more after quarantine them.
I love animals. I currently have a boxer, 2 bearded dragons and 2 chinchillas too.
Look forward to learning from you and hoping to contribute some!
Re: New to discus but not new to fish
Oh and interesting I signed up in September, I just logged in and started posting this week though. Some reason I thought I just joined this forum this week. Simply discus pops up a lot in discus google results I think I must’ve read this board and created my account then I must’ve got distracted by my new discus (I did get them in September).
Sorry if any confusion

Gday mate and welcome to SD! My first dog was a boxer named Caesar...love those pooches!
What strain/s of discus do you have? Where are you gonna buy your new ones?
We loves pictures or videos as well, why not show us your 125?
Bless

The only ones I can identify are my pigeon blood end the blue diamonds.
I was thinking of Jack Wattley initially, or Fishy Business in Longwood Florida (where I’m from btw). Now I’m uncertain. I’m looking at potential tank mates to add right now. Like 2 ram pairs perhaps.

The first is with just led lights
Second Is with a high light planted tank fixture but I normally leave it off unless I have company or take a pic because I have artificial plants after all except an Anubias!

Not sure how to attach images here but the trio were mine. The black sitting behind the brindle is my current one.
Had boxers since 2004. They all came to me as puppies and lived great full dog lives with me. The black one is my current one. I haven’t gotten a new one since he lost his friend in front of him.

On the reply page the third icon from the right the tree let’s you post pics from phone or whatever. Second icon the film strip lets you post video from utube or wherever. Can only post 1 pic at a time and when it shows actual size press that and resize to large. It won’t post actual size.
