Re: Gettng wilds to eat prepared foods
Beautiful discus, sumer. I am beyond envious. But to the problem at hand.
When my daughters were babies, my wife would panic because they wouldn't eat their baby food. Her mother just chuckled and said "she'll eat when she's ready". Your discus will not starve themselves into oblivion. They'll eat when they're ready. I've not had the same experience with wilds, all of whom seem to eat over time. I do recall getting one batch of very expensive discus from Asia that didn't eat for three weeks. A scary time, but they eventually came around to beefheart and dry pellets. I've even had wild caught altum angels adapt to flake food so I don't think the choice of food makes much of a difference. First, you need to establish who is training who here... :)
Still envious, Willie
Re: Gettng wilds to eat prepared foods
Beautiful discus Sumer. It’s hard to get them to change food. Als fdbw are my main food. Next I mix a lot of flake foods together. I use California black worm flakes with whatever else I have and add nutri-diet flakes to the mix. The nutri-diet have garlic in them and just attracts the fish to eat it. For me once one goes after it they usually all go after it. Good luck.

Hi All,
Been busy since my filter troubles hope everyone is well. ;)
BUT, I had to take a second to respond.
TROPICAL WILD DISCUS GRANULES!!!
Wild discus love them. They don't break the bank. And you don't have to deal with those nasty antigens of bloodworms. If someone has already mentioned them, I say "Huzzah!"
Peace,
Andy
