They’re not house filters they’re aquarium filters. They’re not used all the time. You put them in to remove whatever you want removed. Than take them out and rinse the filter. If real dirty you rinse in bleach. They’re a tool not an everyday filter. Though they can be used as a regular filter in a pinch.

Like I said, thanks for showing this to me, but its litteraly the exact same thing as a house filter. I did try to find some more detail about it, but I cant find any relevant info

I’ve had the hot for years! Does a great job in a short time :). The other one is a newer model. It’s internal but still works well.
No idea why you call them house filters? But I use tap water with no filter. So I guess somewhere people use polishing filters for tap water? For info try googling polishing filters :).
