I did that about 50 years ago to a tank I built. Didn't use glue, just cut the piece
to size, laid a very thin bead of silicone to the bottom edge of the tank. Pressed the sheet in
so that some oozed up put another bead down around the edge, smoothed it out and it's still good.

"Bonding" is a plastics term...adhering is what you will accomplish by doing what Jay suggested...the silicone bead will "adhere" your piece of acrylic into the bottom of your tank. Done it numerous times using acrylic sheet as baffles when making a sump in a glass tank.

Should have added that. Made separators using pcs. of plastic for breeding pairs, ect , in
large tanks to make small tanks. LOL

I wouldnt trust the silicon to hold it under pressure on acrylic but for what you are doing its fine.If you rough up the acrylic a little with course sand paper the silicon will hold a little better.
And make sure you silicone it to the glass... New silicone will not "adhere" to cured silicone.
Lol...so true slicksta :D

Thanks all. the reason i trying do this is my friend give me a 180g tank, the tank doing fine for him years no leaking but there is a patch at bottom (was cracked at begining and my friend fixed it with white silicone), just looks bit messy, thats why i try to get something to cover it ,make it looks better. and meantime i am reseal the tank
