Is it safe to feed fenbendazole food while treating with metro in the water column? I know there are several medications (such as kanamycin and neomycin) that are safe to use with metro as it is relatively mild. I'm not sure about fenbendazole though. Does anyone have experience with this?
Yes its generally safe to do so. However its best to space out medications and gove fish a rest period between so they can recover from toxins.
Be vert careful if you are making your own homemade food with fenbendazole. If theres too much fenbendazole in the water column (leached from the food) you could see sone serious side effects in discus.Tail standing, listlessness and death have been recorded.I can personally attest to it being a real risk.

Thanks, Al. I was curious because if the metro is not completely effective, I'd still prefer to run the full treatment. I've also noticed it helps stimulate their appetite which has been useful when treating internal infections with medicated food such as kanamycin.
Agree with Al, be very careful using Fenben if it gets into the water, especially in low pH (personal onservation).
