What ever happened to Fluke Tabs???
It's been quite a long time since I've been up to date on various treatments, but one thing that was quite popular was Fluke Tabs. Nearly 100% effective, even on very young fry.
It seems to have been discontinued, although I have seen people selling them on ebay for up to $20 per tab??? I seem to remember paying around $3 for 50 tabs several years ago...

Apparently this site has some. It seems to be current. http://www.gotkoi.com/koi_medication/fluke.html
Fluke tabs are a combination of organophosphate and carbamate insecticides. The same stuff they used in flea collars years ago. Most flukes have become resistant to both over the last few years.
What I remember about using Fluke Tabs years ago was how hard it was on the discus. Their color would fade and they would stop eating while undergoing treatment.
Once Prazi became available, most people stopped using Fluke tabs.

You are correct although the fish seemed to recover very quickly. I was unaware fluke had become resistant. I just remember its wide spread use and success.
Re: What ever happened to Fluke Tabs???
There was some resistence reported to the organophosphates and also indications that it impaired breeding. I used them years ago and remember how they would make a discus loose their color.. It would cone back but it was a bit unnerving seeing it. I stopped using it before it was discontinued and switched to other methods of fluke control.
Another one that was super common and is hard to find now is "clout"

"Discontinued" - That's the explanation I was looking for, lol... I don't have any fluke issues at the moment but I will stop considering it for future use!
I actually came across some Clout the other day while searching for fluke tabs...
Re: What ever happened to Fluke Tabs???
