genetics question...

So from my newly purchased group of 8 discus on Saturday, I have 2 pairs formed already. Marlb Yellow male with Red Melon female (laid eggs today). Royal yellow male with red melon female (cleaning a spawning site & quivering/shimmying like mad folk).
Can anyone tell me what the offspring of these pairs would/could look like?

These are all pigeon types so the result should be partial reds, but likely not solid reds.

I thought out this long response, but Willie cut to the chase. So depending on your goals, experience, energy, etc., they might be nice pairs to experiment and start with. Raising a batch of fry is a larger commitment than keeping them.

Thanks guys. My goal in getting back into discus was not to breed them. Having said that, I would love to see a clutch of fry feeding of the parents slime coat in person. I do not have, no will I probably get, a breeding tank going with a view to raising discus fry. It was more of an inquisitive question actually, but you never know what might happen in the future, haha

Is it true that clean PB types bred together will produce fry free from peppering as well?

That depends on the genetics of the Pbs. Some pigeons are very clean as far as peppering. Especially those lines that have been outcrossed to goldens. If you breed a clean pigeon to a clean pigeon you have a better chance of getting clean pigeons or at least some clean pigeons... But Pigeon X Pigeon does not automatically mean they will produce fry free from peppering.

Thanks Al. Neither adult fish have any peppering at all actually. Funny now though, the red melon that spawned with the marlb yellow has ditched him and moved on to a red albino...not sure if the RA is male or not but they were doing the quivering maneuver and cleaning a spawning site last night.
So what would a red albino and red melon cross turn out like?

An albino intermediate can be a very nice fish. You'll end up with super clean melons. The challenge will be to get fry to attach to the melon parent, since they usually will not attach to the albino.
