The 700 GPH should be enough. Check the pump specifications for throughput at different heights. If you need to move water 8 ft up, and the manufacturer says that the flow drops to 200GPH, it may not be enough.

It is a used pump, no specs on it.... but it is pumped up to about 6 feet, what do you think? If not enough, what size pump do i need?
Re: Good Pump for 100 gallon
If you have them, what is the size/brand/model is the pump? Unless it is an older pump, there should be a pumping curve chart on the internet somewhere for it.

At 6 feet, its output is about 500 gph, is that sufficient for my size tank?

Depends on what's in the tank. If it's a planted tank then 500gph (5x turnover) is too high. Discus like calmer waters so you can put a valve inline to lower it to about 3x or you can put a spray bar or split the return. But I think 5x is still too high. HTH
