Re: Big Garage Fishroom Project!
Nice thread! I've been kicking around fishroom plans in my head too for a while now, although mine will be on a much smaller scale. Out of your planned stock, do you currently own any of the fish or will you be buying all new stock soon too?
BTW, last week I bought a group of juvie angels from Bill @ Inland Empire. I spoke with him on the phone & he seems like a good dude. You're lucky to have good help!

dkeef - looks awesome. Does your wife think you have lost your mind? Mine sure does...
Before

After - still have to knock down the wall where the 240 will sit (15'' exposed to main room and 15'' in back open to fish room)

Needless to say, she thinks I have lost my mind :) What she does not understand is this is one of the only things keeping me sane!

Tell her that the show tank raises the resale value of the home ;-). Taking it to the garage would be financially unsound.
Re: Big Garage Fishroom Project!
im trying real hard to make it stay inside...

Re: Big Garage Fishroom Project!
I love these threads! Just when my husband thinks I'm out of control......I show him these and he has a whole new set of worries! :jester::jester::evilgrin:
Re: Big Garage Fishroom Project!
Had a good time at Dave's today. I will say though, I am tired as heck. Making stands isn't easy work! I got a chance to snap a few photos. Enjoy:

Bill (from IE) drilling bulk head holes on tanks. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable doing this.

One rack down, 85 left, lol, jk. I will try to remember the sizes of these off the top of my head. Dave, if I mess up, please correct me. Top should be the 180 acrylic, bottom 150 glass
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps50f9c68c.jpg
Racks on the right were going to house a 240? (Dave) on top and at the bottom 150, both glass

On the other side of this near rack there will be a 300g, and in the distance you can see the temporary discus tank. I can't recall the size of that one but I will say it is at least 200g, as well as the one right behind that one.

The man himself, Dave. Dave makes a 265 gallon tank look small, lol. I tell you, getting that tank from the living to the garage was no joke. I will possibly reconsider my dream tank 240 idea for the future.....
ON TO THE FISH! The main reason why all of this was done.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps667202d0.jpg
This is the 265 that Dave was standing in front of. This was before we started moving everything. As you can see, this tank is super WIDE! 30"

Sorry but the glare was killing me here
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps48f9f960.jpg
Nice selection of discus here. About 30 discus in this tank if I recall correctly.

I included this shot because Dave really has some nice Turqs!
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psda2c9ae7.jpg
QT tank. Some really nice discus in there as well.

The temporary housing for the discus. Again, sorry about the glare. It was pretty bad in the garage.

One of my favorites. Oddly enough, the second favorite was an Albino. That was the first time I had seen albinos and I will admit they look different from what I thought they would look like, in a good way.

All done....Not! I had to leave, but we took a picture before I left. We had 6 people total at one point but some had to leave early.
That's Bill, Dave, and myself.
