50% White based fry, the majoriity of which will be red/whites, with the possibility of some snow whites.
50% Brown based fry, this will be an assortment of turqs and solid browns with red, and pigeon bloods. Any brown based fry which also inherited the pb gene will most likely be culls, but will very in pattern.
Also, in theory, 25% of both groups will be albino's, but in practice this seldom holds true as the albino's are weaker and don't alway make it to attachment.
Where does the pigeon blood come from? They are both brown based strains I thought?
I will be very interested in how these guys look at 4 inches - keep the pics coming
Wow! Those are a lot of fry.. job well done. Hobbyist such as yourself and many others here on simply discus who take their hobby serious really give me inspiration to take my hobby to that next level. I'm no were near that level yet, but hopefully someday I will.
Very nice looking fry Rick. Good question was asked, where does the pigeon come from? Will any be 14 bar?
Most of the snow whites out there carry the pb gene, mine is no exception. It is not neccessary for them to carry it (pb gene) for them to be a snow white.
Looking good. Snow whites seem to be a good strain to work with and cross. I'm still figuring out a lot with the genetics part and enjoy seeing your post Rick. I have just had my pair male snow white cross ring leopard get attachment so looking foeward to seeing how they come along.
Rick thoughs guys are beautiful. You shipping? Lol
Wow the one in the last 2 pictures is a very nice discus. Reminds me a bit like the pattern on my Cheetah.
Thanks, I really like that one so far as well, but what I find most interesting is the first two pictures with the fry with the red stress bars......look close.Quote:
