Re: Some new plecos
Oh my gosh! I can’t make out the baby whip tails until the last video. They are so small and blend so well with the substrate. I like the zebra plecos by the way although they are suppose to be great at hiding. I had a phantom pleco once that I never saw again once I introduced it to the tank. I vowed never to spend that kind of money on something I’d never see again, but you (and Adam) could make me change my mind.

Re: Some new plecos
I see them fairly frequently. Especially the blue phantoms, they’re not shy at all. Zebras are coming out of their shell slowly. They’re eating well, which was my main concern. I’m actually ok with plecos hiding, as long as I know they’re alright. I have 6 L263 in my 325, never see them but still kind of enjoy having them in there. Every now and then I see a caudal fin, and I’m happy as Larry.

Re: Some new plecos
I counted over 60 fry in the box today, only 2 haven’t hatched (yet?). I just hope I can keep them alive, but seeing their few siblings on the bottom of the tank gives me hope. Their yolks should be gone by tomorrow I guess and will start feeding baby brine shrimp. Pics and vids to follow

Last 2 didn’t hatch, all others looking great, yolks virtually gone. Started feeding nauplii today, hopefully can take a video later

Re: Some new plecos
So cute! That zebra is very cool too. This is great that you are documenting your breeding project for others. Do you know how long you’ll keep them in the breeder box? They look like will outgrow it soon.

Re: Some new plecos
I’ll keep them in there until they look big enough to be able to compete for food with the gen pop. Another week at least , probably longer. At the moment this is the only way to ensure they get enough. The pencils (160pc) would get most of the baby brine shrimp before they even hit the ground

Re: Some new plecos
I’ve also moved out the panaques and the sabajis, and as soon as the temp in my big tank is down again, doing a heat treatment atm, the blue phantoms, pencils and brochis are leaving as well. I want to make sure the zebras and the baby whiptails don’t have to compete for food too hard.
