Tuck - what do u feed for the first week or two?
Tuck is no longer here. I understand he gave up the hobby due to ill health.
Wonderful. I want to know the details.
well i have trying the gizmo for 3 weeks now
with two diferent groups of babies,
but i put it in a big tank just hanging inside it
with very good succes almost no fatalities and feeding nhbs since first day of freeswiming
yesterday i put a group of snowflake babies that just born and see if it works with wiglers
I have used the "Big Tuck" system on Angels with great results. Haven't had time to try it with my Discus yet.
The YouTube videos are a great help.
Hope someone can help,
I have managed to raise discus artificially and use the coffee filter baskets together with a drip irrigation system (being part of a 100 liter tank) to create flow in the baskets.
The problem is that many fry die for me....more than half actually....can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I use the air stone with yolk formula for the first couple of days and then BBS. Do you put in air stone for an hour and replace / remove it? or do u leave it in the water for a long period of time? Can it be i am feeding too much or too many fry in one basket??
Would appreciate your help,
Thanks,
SGB
I only use artemia no egg Yolk
Are Artemia the same as brine shrimp? Or its a smaller, different species???
Thanks
Steve
I dont know about Cisco Discus
Yes artemia is brine shrimp
I just ordered one of the baskets from America, geeze those things are hard to find in Australia. I'm going to have a go with my angels, if all goes well I'll move onto Discus.
After reading all the information in this thread "to this point" I noticed a ph level target of 5.9 to 6.5. My question is......how do you treat your water to obtain your ph target?
Box i moved fry to at 15 days free swimming. Used a whisper 1-3 gal filter to move water from 55g to box.
