Re: 7 discus in 55 gallon?
Yes, but maybe it's a good reason to upgrade to a 75 or 90??

Re: 7 discus in 55 gallon?
At 3 inches 7 discus and the other fish are fine in a 55, but when the discus grow up they will need more space. Change a lot of water until you get them into something larger.
Re: 7 discus in 55 gallon?
As others said, they'll fit for now and I'd add that you should definitely look to be upgrading to a 90 gallon. The dimensions on those are great and it'll allow you to get some more corydoras too because they (like discus) prefer to be in groups of 6 or more.

I have my contest growouts in a 40 breeder and there are ten all over three inches now. Once they get to four inches or a bit larger they will be going in a 75. 75 is a great size. :) A 90 even better :D

Absolutely. I wasn’t intending on having this many fish, it unintentionally happened. I’ll either upgrade or I may end up selling a couple of discus as they grow. I definitely won’t be keeping 7 adults in a 55. My stand was designed for a 75-90 gallon so that’s definitely an option.
