Testing video. The tank is still fairly dark since it has new peat plus roobois tea plus lowest light setting on my led light.

They are amazingly beautiful! Very nice round shape and colours! Wish I can have a bigger tank to have some wild in the future.
Just beautiful Win!! Just adding a peat filter myself, since I can't run RO right now can you walk me through how you add yours?
My well is running low and hauled water has no pressure till I plumb a new system, in case any were wondering why no RO. So for now ill use organic high standard peat to soften the hauled water a bit
Hey marnie, that really depends on how hard your water is and you just have to test run it with peat to see how much you will need. I am now currently use 2 liters of peat per 90 gallon, which seems to hit the sweet spot for me. Remember that my water is moderately hard at 200 TDS and ph ~ 7.5. I got 3 eheim canisters on this tank and I run peat/bio in one of them at a reduced flow rate. I change them out once a month. I don't really use it to soften the water (but the wilds seem to get into spawning mode in it) but rather to get some humic acids and other black water extracts into the water column. So make sure you test your water if you want to use peat to soften it :)

My water is 300 tds :) 2 liters per 90g thanks Winn, my pH is 7.2 after aging but using it so far I see perked up behaviour increase in activity
Winn,
Where do you get your peat? I have used Laguna peat in the past. But now
they have changed the peat, and the new peat is too fibrous and leeks a lot of
debris. Is this normal? Will it harm the fish in any way. I want to find the
peat pellets somewhere.

I notice the same thing, I get organic irish moss from home depot, but it too leaks more, however that does not hurt the fish a bit :)
Put your peat in a canister and put a filter pad on top of it ... Should keep the debris from going to the water column
