They are a pretty pair...though the parents look a little malnourished...pinched forehead and down the lateral line...workin hard to feed their hungry family...wish that had the same effect on my middle aged chubby belly :thumbsup:

Circling back to the intent of the post was the development on the fry. Which is unto itself a commendable feat. I did not notice the parent but because I was looking at the fry. Now that my attention is drawn back the the parents I do notice was seems to be one of my favorite strains. Beautiful fish, Francis!Quote:

As Tom mentioned, people come here to learn and my comment was really trying to draw attention to something I learned here, that good discus parents often don't eat well themselves during the time period fry feed heavily off their slime coat, and sometime lose condition as a result...so it's not judging shape or color or anything like that and I have ZERO knowledge/experience in that arena...anyways, the pics you post are amazing and I do hope you change your mind and keep them coming!
Are the fish you post owned by you, or from breeders that you follow?

As I’ve read this thread from the outside, it is my sincere belief that Danotaylor and Coralbandit meant no harm and were not being judgmental. Both their observations were mixed w positive comments, wo accusations of bad husbandry, or shame on you-like. I really feel that they merely meant to point out that the parents might be in need of more food. I, for one, would greatly appreciate someone pointing out something I may have not noticed in my breeding frenzy/elation. In fact, Danotaylor’s post centered on how hard the parents must be working to feed them, not a condescending remark to you or your fish. Honestly.....had either Danotaylor or Coralbandit been anything but meaning well, I would surely agree w you. I have been a member of Forums full of snotty, perfect, Know-it-all, non caring judgmental types. The members here are not that at all.....even when we disagree....and I hope you refrain from cessation knowing that (imho), the members here are indeed caring/wanting to be helpful in nature. Just sharing my thoughts.....hope I didn’t butt in wrongly.

It doesnt matter what the intention was. But how it would be received. No one posting these beautiful fish would expect these kind of comments. But then again, this is where we are.
