Nice Tammy, any wild angels in your bunch?

Not sure really. Steve bought them at a local aquarium. (I think he got the blacks at Tropic Isle in Framingham, MA and the others at Patenaude's in New Bedford) I always liked angels and they are so much easier to care for than discus.

Thanks Nathan, I didn't really see any difference in the fish. It wasn't a lot.

I love those red spots. I hope they breed for you. Do they require the same parameters as discus in order to breed?
Re: Angel Newbie - I'm in Love
I would think so Rick but hopefully easier that wild discus. :)

I'm pretty sure that is a fact, lol. Did you see the Altums that John had for sale recently? I really wanted to get some but have no experience with wilds anything. Alas, recent events will not allow me to purchase anything for a while :-(
Re: Angel Newbie - I'm in Love
I did Rick and tempted, but have enough pots in the oven. Maybe next year. :)
Re: Angel Newbie - I'm in Love
So TDS is at 126 and added one of Barb's flat breeding cones to the tank. No pairing is occurring that I can tell. I'm not even sure if you can tell gender on angels.

^ Not until they spawn and you see the tubes, just like discus.

Figures..thanks Ryan :D
Re: Angel Newbie - I'm in Love
So have been dropping the TDS in the angelfish tank and finally observed a behavior other then just chasing. Two were facing each other and each fish was doing a quick repeating pulse of the entire body starting with the head. It was similar to the discus shimmy but a more violent, larger movement. Guessing it is a dominance behavior.
