Notifications from thread replies

I want to set up my notifications, so that when someone responds to a thread I started, I will be notified at the top right under Notifications.

I went under General Settings, and changed my Default Thread Subscription Mode to 'through my control panel only'.

But, this isn't working; as after I changed it someone replied to one of my threads and I didn't get a notification.

Hi, look at the top of the thread and you will see "Thread Tools". Click on that and select the third option "Subscribe To This Thread.." and see if that does what you want.
