Re: Metro vs Metroplex
So I looked at fresh feces from the tank my sick discus came from to see if any of my other fish had cryptobia. I looked at several samples/slides and magnified from 100X to 1000X and no cryptobia or other swimming parasites. What a relief that was! Thanks for all your info Shrinkwrap and for showing me what to look for.
Much appreciated,
Patty

Re: Metro vs Metroplex
You should see them wriggling at the least magnification and then increase the power of the focus. You will never need to get to the oil immersion strength to see them but as you move closer you may be able to see the flagella off each end. Use a cell phone to take videos of them and I'll help you identify them.

Re: Metro vs Metroplex
I had nothing wriggling or moving across my field of vision. I watched your phone video and you tube video of this parasite-I didn’t see that or anything moving. I started at the lowest magnification and moved up to the highest magnification. I also looked at several different poop samples. I’m wanting to replace the fish I lost so wanted to be thorough.

Re: Metro vs Metroplex
Hi Patty
When you do water changes, how much metro do you add back? Do you treat the water amount that you add back in? Or something else?
