Which Cories do well with discus?

Hi, which Cories do well with discus at higher temps of 84 plus?

I have heard that Sterba's corydoras are a good choice and that's what I plan on adding to my tank as soon as the cycle completes. I thought I would give them a few weeks before introducing a new purchase of discus

Sterbai, aeneus, julii, adolfoi just to mention the most common

Sterbai are the most commonly available and cheapest option for cories that truly thrive at 80F+. Other options (gossei, adolfoi, eversi, etc.) exist, but they are much more expensive and harder to find.

I’m currently keeping 11 different species with my discus, amongst those the common sterbai, aeneus and trilineatus. My temperature barely goes over 82, and all seem to thrive, are growing well and the losses are minimal if any.

As a single species to keep it simple my choice would probably be sterbai, simply due to availability and hardyness. And they are really pretty fish as well

I have sterbais because I was told they are the ones that can best handle the higher temps. I keep some tanks at 86.

Would you more knowledgeable folks agree?

i've had luck with several (all the typical LFS varieties, green, panda, skunk, jullii, etc.) but they can't take the heat discus can. i had heater failure, at 90+, discus were fine, by lost about 20 cories

All of the Cories do well with discus, with the possible exception of the seemingly more delicate pandas, which may struggle.
Suggest the tank temp be kept at no more than 82-83F though, to keep them all healthy, thriving, and happy.

I have 3 bronze and 3 albino in my tank and they seem to do great.

I have brochis splendens in my discus tank and they've done really well. They are sometimes called "emerald green cories," and are basically the cory cat's larger cousin.

I recommend asking this question to those that specialize in corydoras sp. like Ian Fuller @ Corydoras World on Facebook. I would assume you want more than a "does fine" and appears fine,"-- I would.

I keep 8 - 10 corys in every tank and all the tanks are 80F - 82F. Over the years, I find very few species that do not do well. Young pandas cannot handle high temperatures, but older ones do fine. The ones that will not last are trilineatus and paleatus. Everything else thrives. Recently, I started keeping Aspidoras as well.

Where do you guys get Cories and either fish etc from so as not to compromise your discus health. I’m tentative about using LFS

I've never had cories transfer disease to other fish, including discus. My cories and tetras come from AquaBid and fish shows. I don't quarantine them, although some of the tetras may go into a smaller tank initially to get fattened up on bbs.

I'd equate keeping "less optimal" cories at discus temps to keeping discus at 90F+. It's not cruel and unusual, but it is unnecessarily hot.
