How do you contact Gan Discus? Do they have a web site where you can view their strains?

unfortunately the Gan brothers no longer breed discus, they do however import wilds.

Did anyone take over their Purple Gold Strain?

gans does have different strains but no web site yet

The Gan brothers, as mentioned above, do not breed discus for sale anymore. They do, however, import both tank bred and/or wild discus for sale on a regular basis. Their tank bred discus r mostly imported from Penang.

If someone says "Gan's super blue discus"- does that mean

that the fish is bred by Gan discus farm and someone

imported the stock in US?

I see some people sell this type of fish.

It could mean that. More likely it would be fish bred from Gan's super blue discus, F 1's or F 2's,etc.. I've purchased Wattley turquoise discus that are some 18 or so generations removed from Mr.Wattley. I guess as long as its advantageous to mention the orig. breeder I suppose people do. Some of the crazy names of discus come from,IMO, people feeling they have to relabel something, I suppose after breeding it themselves for a while. BTW, anyone know what a "red Diamond" is supposed to look like? I've seen some that look like "scribbled red" to me. Also, Blue Diamonds are solid blue.... red Diamonds are...??????? later,J(Nightowl) :vanish:
