That fish is breathtakingly beautiful. I love my group, but I dream of a tank of wilds now. It’s my dirty little secret I keep from my domestics. Shhh

I have been on pins and needles with this spawn... Its the pairs first.and I have no clue if I will get another chance. I have had to shift around some priorities here as I had allocated most tanks to another cross....
Ah well... I am really happy with this spawn and still pretty much in shock they bred in my well water.
Any how I will keep you all posted on how these f1 wilds do growing out. I can't even begin to tell you what these mean to me and my breeding goals here!
Al
Hope they spawn for you again Al :D
Pat
I hope so too Pat!

That's awesome Al. Not sure how I missed this thread in Jan, but wow, stunning pair. That natural deep red is to die for. Well done on the fry mate. Watching eagerly!
So happy for you Al. My ph and tds are very similar to yours which makes it even more exciting. I say I don’t want to breed, but this would be like hitting the breeding lottery. Congratulations!:balloon::balloon::balloon:

Wow Nice!!
Thats pretty awesome. Pat's wilds have been some of my favorite fish on the forum, and it doesn't seem like many people are importing wilds now. Did the parents originally come from John Kreatsoulas?
Pretty sure these came from Mark at Discus Origins when he was importing and selling wilds. The import business for wild discus is tough and unfortunately its become a very narrow playing field. Theres a few importers that have big market shares . Its hard to source quality wilds because of this and the prices have gone up on everything from shipping to the fish. Its not an easy venture. I am sure others will come along and have a go at it. Best thing we can do is breed whats currently available.
Al
Very nice Al.
I am hoping to get some F1 wilds here in a few months or some of Discus Hans wild types.
Having a tree fall in the front yard took my discus money last month, but I can save that money again, and I am lucky there wasn't damage to the house or injury to people or pets.
Al is correct, these came from Mark and these were the reddest Cuipeua I ever received from Mark. They were turning red in the QT. I am super happy they gave Al a spawn. I hated to give them up but had other priorities. Here is a video when they were in the QT.
