is well water subject to seasonal ph changes? anybody know?
I imagine there may be some differences regionally, but where I am in Long Island the water from my 90' well is a constant 57 degrees and pH of 7.0 all year long.
it had been running at consistent 6.7 for whenever i checked, so much so that i quit checking it until i set up this discus tank 3 months go,, checked it and it has been running in the 5's,, the water is very soft..
yes they are. In the winter with a big heavy snow my well water changes, and during the summer with heavy rains. It allows more ground minerals to get into the water driving the TDS, GH and PH up. Mine has never been drastic enough for my fish to even notice but it is something to be aware of.
hi jack,,were almost neighbors:D,,,my water is great,,use it straight from the well to the tank, suppose we are damn lucky to be able to do that, a bit of baking soda takes care of the ph drop,,, i was just curious,,,
