True enough Al!! We spend a hour with this little tree frog. It was amazing it put up with us.

We call them stink bugs down here. Whatever they are called, this shot is a once in a lifetime thing.

The name comes from their strong and unpleasant smell once you crush them . I wonder why they are called assassins though since they look so peacefull to me .

No offense intended Brady, but as others have said, this is an insect from the humble stink bug family. The assassin bug has a spear like appendage that is part pf its mouth with which it impales and ingests its prey. Google images wil show you plenty of licalities & color variation but the body shape is distinctly different from the stink bug group ☺
