Very impressive and well done. I really like that guy.
Yes, it was his planted tank that got me looking into setting up a discus tank, but as I did more research, I came the the conclusion that I would go bare-bottom (well, slate tiles) and some wood/rock with a few epiphytes. I also think it is great that he updated and changed his approach.

although I prefer much less sand, like George Farmer's approach.
They look great. Look a lot more natural for discus rather than a planted tank. Their eyes are much brighter and clear and the discus appear happier.
Liked it so much that he posted another video

He will discover like I did that one day a Discus will sample it's first shrimp and shortly afterward all the Discus learn that they are yummy.
Liz... it's been about 4 years now and my damn discus crew still are idiots (won't eat a shrimp!). Started with 12 cherry shrimp my wife bought me... thought they'd be an expensive discus snack... NOPE. They multiplied out of control (I was giving them away and even catching & flushing at one point). WHY can't I just have something... anything...normal? My wilds in the past would've destroyed them! I even fed them feeder guppies! (... although accidentally fed them cardinal tetras prior to that).
I'll buy a big group from you if you will ship them.
Ditto.
Alright... well I just got rid of a ton (damn Murphy's law). I'll PM both of you in about 3-4 weeks due to work travel & replenishment time (doesn't take them long). I'll send small sample at first (to Pat & Willie) since I'm green on shipping. Definitely feel free to remind me if I squirrel out... happens often.
I'll remind you. Also I'm good at shipping although I've never shipped shrimp. I have lots of heat packs and will be more than happy to send you. You will need them this time of year.
