I did it this time anyway. I'm pumped! Tom said that he thought that I'd have better luck with the Rams that he's been breeding that take parent raising in stride. Sure enough, the first time his Jet Black spawned they have gotten them to wigggler stage and moved them.
Last night when the eggs started getting fewer in the spawning plate I knew that I'd either wake up to no eggs or a bunch of wigglers in a different place. It's so hard to see those little wigglers in a tank dark with tea but I followed dad with my eyes and found his hiding place. It chose an excellent place! I just lay my heaters on the bottom of my tanks. I didn't remove the suction cups from this particular heater. One of the cups was suction part up. That's where dad put them. Jet Black wigglers nestled into a jet black suction cup. Smart. I give them a shot of newly hatched BBS figuring that if they were too young to take it their parents would clean it up.
Tom, this is the pair in the 20 gallon tank so ever since they spawned I've been lowering the water level by a gallon+ every day. I don't know what else to do. Do you recommend I do anything else at this point?
