Made some changes to mobile browsing...
You may have noticed some changes to the way the forum is viewed by mobile devices. Google is making some changes to the way pages are ranked and websites need to be "mobile friendly" if they wish to do well.
We are now optimized for mobile browsers...No change will be noticed when viewed by a desktop browser.
Thanks everyone.
Al
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
If for some reason you don't like the mobile browser... when viewing in the mobile browser at the bottom of the page is a link for the full site.
Thanks,
al
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
I like it, Al. Just had a brief look, seems much better on the Android than even the former program (can't remember the name) that you had to deep-six. And MUCH better than trying to view it as a desktop site on a phone.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
Al, I strictly use my phone so this mobile version is nice now that tapatalk isn't used. Would it be possible to incorporate a way to view your participated threads? Is there something like this available that I'm not aware of? It is a tad hard to go back through and remember all of the different conversations that I participated in without having to scroll through each category ( same as full site but much more time consuming when you can only see three or four threads at once).
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
I'll just add that I haven't figured out how to mark All messages read.

This also, I don't think it's an option in mobile Don. Full site yes but not on here.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
I'll have to play around with it guys.. I don't use the mobile browser on my phone, I just use it as the full site, so I am not fully aware of the mobile browser in and outs. I will see what I can figure out.

I don't think either one of those features are available on the mobile version. I poked around and couldn't find them.

Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
oh..so the tapping app no longer works? i tried getting on...i never use my laptop to view forums!! hence im not on here much., i cant post on my laptop. see how this goes...see if it posts.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
I'm interested in the following things for the mobile version of the site:
- view new posts
...I'll stop at that. Does this feature exist? Without it I think I'm stuck navigating in and out of specific areas, which is tedious.
I don't use the full site when on mobile, even though my phone has a huge screen. Sometimes the message display formats into a very thin column, which is hard to read.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
Matt, I too like the "view new posts" type of feature on message boards. On Iphone platform after logging onto simply look in the upper right corner of the browser and click the little box with the white dots in it, next to the search icon. This takes you to a menu where "What's New?" is your view new post button. It's kind of a round about way of getting there but seems to be the easiest. Not sure if there is any way to separate it from that menu or if there is a real need to.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
That did it, thanks Matt!

Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
I like the full site look more and I was unhappy when it changed .
Now i know that I can view it like it was before again.
Thanks for the info Al.
I also learned the what's new option from this topic .Didn't know about that feature.
Maybe offtopic but I will like to report that every time I try to edit my posts from my mobile phone it ends up deleting my whole post.
Re: Made some changes to mobile browsing...
Filip, when you go to edit a post what buttons are shown in the bottom right corner of the post?
