It would be nice to see your fish spawn. I like them very much. I saw the advice Mark Chen gave you a short while ago and it was basically the same thing that got mine to start spawning. Raise temp, lower hardness (drastically) let ph fall below 6 and stop water changes for a short period of a week or so. Then a massive water change with cooler water and drop the temp on the heater to 78. They started spawning almost right away and haven't stopped since. I was getting extremely frustrated, but then once I got some fry attached to the parents, it was worth it, so good luck and keep trying. When it finally works, you'll be glad you did.
Thank you for the advice. I should try this method in a more consistent way, but the problem is that I travel a lot. I have been travelling for the last 10 days and I will be back home only on Monday. But after that I will be able to dedicate more time to the fish and hopefully it will work.

Hi Pat, it would be great to start our Cuipeua breeding attempts together. I will PM you with some questions and ideas.

11 days old now and they've been picking food from the bottom and at the wood for the last 2 days. They are also starting to venture away from the parents and swim around on their own for short periods.

    Thanks Guys,

Here is a pic from today. It may be one of the last photos of fry with parents, because the parents seem to be getting testy with them. The male had them corralled up in a corner earlier today. Mom just seems to want to get away from them much more often. I may end up separating them within the next couple days.

Wow Len, they sure are getting big. It is ashame if you have to separate them now.

Len, they look great. They will pace the glass for day or two. Are they eating? Looks like there are nice round bellies on them.

They are eating Pat. I put some bbs in about an hour or so after I moved them and they darted around eating them. I would have liked them to be with the parents awhile longer, but the parents didn't seem to feel the same way. The female has turned that fire red colour again and they are picking at the wood already
